Hi everyone to my new blog “Das Herbstblatt”

Hi everyone and welcome to my new blog “Das Herbstblatt”!
The word “Herbstblatt” is German and simply means “autumn leaf”. Maybe you’ll ask why I’ve chosen that name. Well, I didn’t want to make a blog with a spectacular name like “Peace on earth!” or “Stop global warming”. “Das Herbstblatt” is an unobstrusive name because people mostly don’t have the time to watch leaves on the street. They are there but people wouldn’t notice them.

But actually a leaf is one of the great wonders in the world. It is equipped with everything it needs, it has veins for living and it changes its colour when autumn arrives. So if one leaf changes the colour on a tree, the others will follow and at the end the whole tree glows in its newly obtained colour.

What I want to say is that something worldshaking doesn’t have to be loud or demonstrative but maybe a silent impulse can change everything.

To follow in a way my motto I’d like to start with a very serious topic. Maybe you’ve heard of the demonstrations in Burma that just took place there. People wanted to break free of this oppressing and terrifying government that spurns human rights every day. For that reason I’d like to present you a site on the web which supports the democratic opposition in different ways, mostly over the internet.

One way is to post an image in a blog to express the solidarity with the people protesting and living there.

If you also want to participate click on the image below which takes you directly to the page.
