Hi everyone!
Do you know that sunday afternoon feeling, when everything goes a little more slowly and there’s nothing new to read on the internet? If you feel the same way, I’ve got some recommendations for you (which you can combine as you wish):
1: Lay on your bed and just do nothing (that’s really important). Let your thoughts “fly around”, maybe look at the ceiling. Try to forget all worries, think of something you like or a place you’d like to be.
2: Tune in your favourite music. I’d recommend a relaxing type of music. Beautiful tunes are e.g.:
Classical: Tchaikovsky – The nutcracker => iTunes Store
Pop: Carpenters – Greatest Hits => iTunes Store
Rock: No Doubt – Rock Steady => iTunes Store
Alternative: Coldplay – X & Y => iTunes Store
3: Try to get away of the computer (right after you’ve read this post 😉 ). Read a book of your choice or have a look at an old picture book, this can be relaxing, too.
4: Paint something. Look out of the window and make a sketch of the landscape (for city slickers: neighbouring houses). Don’t try to make it exact, stay on the sketch basis, otherwise it can get frustrating.
Here you go. I cannot guarantee that all tips work out but as I said try out various. As a little motivation for a sketch or a painting I’ve found this picture by Georges Seurat on the internet. It has the title: Un dimanche apreès-midi à l’île de la Grande Jatte. That means “sunday afternoon on the island of Grande Jatte”:
